2016 GPA Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees is held for two weeks in November at the Grayling Mini-Mall, located on the I-75 Business Loop near Glens. 50 or more trees are beautifully decorated by area businesses and given away in a raffle. Purchase the raffle tickets, then simply choose your favorite tree and place a ticket stub in the corresponding container. If lucky, you could win that tree!

How to donate blood

Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood donors can now save time at their next donation by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. To get started and learn more, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions on the site.

Crawford County COA Needs Drivers
The Crawford County Commission on Aging needs Meals on Wheels drivers!  Drivers would deliver meals to the homes of elderly residents in need in Crawford County.  If you are a licensed driver, can pass a criminal background check, and have a friendly smile, you qualify!  If interested contact the COA at 989-348-7123.

Speaker Program

Members are responsible for providing speakers for upcoming meetings.  The list is done alphabetically, with each member providing at least one speaker per year (at our current membership level).  As soon as you have a speaker and a topic lined up please report it to either the President, the Secretary, or the Bulletin Editor.  We will publish the next few speakers in the bulletin and on the website and Facebook (if no speaker has been reported to the club the name of the person responsible for finding the speaker will appear there).  Hopefully having our speaker schedule published will provide interest for guests to come to our meetings.  If you have any questions please direct them to Bill McNamara.
